Business Segments

We supply fuel, lubricants and LPG to our wide spectrum of commercial customers.

Fuel business is our key revenue stream and the lead contributor to our bottom-line. We sell white petroleum products as well as Black Oils. Our fuels business is divided into two as follows:

Retail

Our beautifully branded and well lit Service Stations are spread across Uganda covering key towns and highways. Apart from retailing fuel at our Stations, we sell the whole range of Kobil lubricants, K-gas as well as other non-fuel supplies.

Currently, we are in the process of coming up with an advanced loyalty fuel card which once commissioned, will provide our customers especially those that operates fleets of motor vehicles unparallel convenience. Additionally, we are aggressively growing our Service Station network in the country to serve our growing customer base. Recently, we acquired all assets of Phoenix Uganda Petroleum Limited including prime Service Stations in Kampala which we are upgrading and branding with our corporate insignia.

Commercial
We supply fuel, lubricants and LPG to our wide spectrum of commercial customers. Our key commercial customers per sector include: Telecommunications (Warid Telecomm), Construction (Omega Construction, SBI and Roko Construction Company), Manufacturing (Oil Palm, Century Bottling Company, Kakira Sugar, Uganda Clays, Uganda Baati and Energo Uganda) and NGO’s (Verona Fathers).

We are developing an electronic fuel management system, i-fuel, which we will commission into the market in the second quarter of 2011. Once commissioned, i-fuel will provide our customers especially those running fleets of motor vehicles discounted purchases of our fuel products, lubricants, LPG and related non-fuel supplies offered through our Service Stations.

We market K-gas which is our highly popular LPG brand. We retail K-gas in 6kg, 13kg and 25kg cylinders through our Service Station network as well as through appointed dealers including leading Supermarket chains such as Nakumatt and Uchumi. We also market and sell K-gas to our commercial customers across the country. In addition, we export K-gas to markets in the region. In 2010, we commissioned a high capacity modern LPG filling and storage plant in Kampala which has tremendously boosted our capacity to serve our growing in-country as well as export market.

We are Uganda’s market leaders in LPG business and consequently, we have taken upon ourselves the responsibility to sensitize Ugandans on the environmental benefits of using LPG as an affordable alternative to the use of wood fuel. In addition, we conduct trainings on safe use of LPG as part of our social responsibility.

To our LPG customers, both retail and commercial, we guarantee safety as well as timely delivery and constant availability of their preferred cooking gas conveniently available in outlets across the country.

We are developing the non fuels business segment through business partnerships with top brands

Kobil Uganda is developing the non-fuels business segment through business partnerships with leading service providers. In our Service Stations, customers are able to access banking services through ATMS, restaurants & coffee shops, mobile phone airtime scratch cards as well as car wash and tyre sales. Currently, we have partnerships with Stanbic Bank, Barclays Bank, Bank of Africa and UAP Insurance. Others include Hankook Tyres and Win Win Worldwide Microfinance Services.

Non-fuels is a very important business segment not just to Kobil Uganda but to the KenolKobil Group as a whole. As a result, we are constantly upgrading our facilities to accommodate more of such enterprises that compliment our core business of selling fuels and related products. Also, we continue to get into business partnerships with leading brands that use our superb premises to offer their products and services.
